The teachers at my Elementary School can't stand him. I'm in Special Ed, and the cuts have been devastating. Add to that the crap coming out of central office, and I would get rid of him in a heartbeat, as I bet would 99% of those at our school.
What kind of crap comes out of Central Office?
Not the PP but I agree with the post. One example of crap is Be Well 365. There is no support for staff at the school level to implement it.
Agree 100 %. We had leadership meetings last month and when we looked at our school's data it was our African American FARMS students who were performing the lowest. We have done training on race and equity ad nauseum but never once have we been trained on how to help students in poverty. School administrators and teachers genuinely want this training and the staff at central office are running around like chickens with their heads cut off unable to support.
Culturally responsive teaching and community building and social-emotional health strategies ARE strategies for working with students in poverty. I grew up very poor in the inner city. It would have made an immense difference in my feeling that I belonged at my high school and my teachers cared about me if someone had used these strategies. I looked at the materials provided —including tons of online resources and a lot of them are simple and free things to do. Especially the trauma informed teaching.
