Yes their approved cap is much higher than current expected enrollment from feeders so that’s what I mean by approved.  With the high demand already now, I would not be surprised if they did expand but it would have to be at another location because I don’t think there is room at the current campus.  The easy way to do it is the new location could be the middle school and current location high school or vice versa.  [/quote]

The higher ceilings you are referring to will fill the current campus, which as you said won't fit larger cohorts from the feeders. Additionally, each feeder has a fixed number of spaces available for its students at DCI. Those quotas and the DCI charter's ceilings are not large enough to accommodate the larger cohorts at Stokes and MV UNLESS a) there is far larger attrition from feeder schools to DCI than has been the case and or b) DCI decides to expand.

DCI is well aware of the expansions at MV and Stokes, and that is why MV and Stokes  have explicitly told parents of new ECE students that there is no longer a guarantee. DCI administrators told the PCSB parent advisory group last year that there is no expansion plan on the table, that they need to 'perfect their model' first.

THIS.  Much, much higher chance of getting into DCI than MacFarland being a viable choice in middle school in the next 7 years with such terrible scores.

All the middle class families we know are not going to their IB school, bailing in K, or for sure upper elementary if they had bad lottery numbers.  Absolutely no one is continuing into their feeder middle school in our neighborhood.  Neither are any of our friends that have other IB middle school feeders.  I won’t even go there about how worst the high schools are EOTP.  [/quote]
