Well considering the DA Girls Cup only has one club in the top bracket there really is nothing to discuss which is why the thread is being called a stroke fest. Go and talk with your sideline about it. The schedule is out. I don't really know what you want to talk about.

If you want to talk about how FCV will do, well their general performance in the playoffs are any indication, half the FCV teams will not escape their own group stage. FCV does fine in a weak conference but they struggle to win against other conference top teams. [/quote]

The teams in stronger conferences face real competition on a regular basis.   FCV dominates a very weak DA conference so they have to adjust when they face strong teams.  It is one thing to beat Arlington or MU/Spirit into submission, it's another thing to go against real powerhouses.  [/quote]

It was previously stated that HALF of FCV’s teams would not escape group stage. That is a fair estimate. And half probably is “just fine”. But it does paint a stark contrast between FCV’s Conference success vs out of conference. [/quote]

Only 8 teams make it out of their group at finals.  Does that mean there are only 8 quality teams in the country at each age group?

All teams in the red flight are guaranteed advancement to that second stage – the 32-team Winter Cup. Seven groups of four teams and two groups of three teams will compete in the blue flight. The winners of each four-team blue flight group will advance to the Winter Cup, while the two three-team group winners will play a knockout playoff game for the final Winter Cup berth.

The eight group winners from Winter Cup will advance to the Spring Cup from April 29 – May 4. There, they will contest a knockout-style bracket for the DA Cup championship. All other teams will play in brackets to determine the final DA Cup rankings.[/quote]

Yes, 8 teams advance from the Winter showcase, not group stage as stated.

I think 2 for sure will qualify out of winter showcase, maybe a 3rd.

As for the Spring, that's why they play the games.  I hope a DMV area team can take home a Cup championship.  It would be good for our area I think.
