I think some people just don't have boundaries anymore. If you aren't someone's friend then don't text them, let alone expect an immediate response. When you put your phone number in directories it is so you can be easily reached by your kid's friends parents if needed or the school. It is not so some impatient random person can text you and then keep bothering you if you don't reply in 2 seconds. There was an old thread where someone's solution was to text "unsubscribe" back. Thought it was hilarious, but wouldn't go over well.
Np I absolutely love the unsubscribe thing! The "entitled idiots" who text people without having a good reason probably wouldn’t get it though.
Thank you for putting to words what I was thinking, but didn't want to say about people who text without a good reason. Don't think I can do it to random other parents though who text me with requests. I sign up to volunteer on evite, etc but did not put my number on some text me list for every volunteer opportunity. I have a job and cannot leave at a moments notice because you need someone to do some job that nobody signed up for on evite.
