Distribution of these children to liberals
I would make room in my home in a heartbeat, for as long as necessary.
You’d take a family in and provide all food, clothing, and medical care out of pocket? And provide child care and transportation?
I'll be completely honest, because I've given this some thought. We can just barely pay our bills every month. We are middle class, with lots of education and social resources and very little cash. Lots of student loans, etc. I have young children, including a daughter, and would not be comfortable with an adult man or even teenage boys in my home that I didn't know. We have a guest room, so they would have to fit in there. I could accommodate a mother with one or two young children. We could accommodate and care for two young children without a parent who were elementary age. We can't afford childcare, so children too young for school would not work. We could manage the additional cost of food, clothing, etc. DH is a federal employee, so if the government would agree to cover the cost of adding them to our health insurance, that would be great. We could figure out how to deal with additional healthcare costs if they were otherwise insured. I live in a community that is about 30% latino, so I think we could connect them socially with people that share their language and culture to make them feel less scared and more at home. It would be hard, no doubt about it, but it is a privilege to help others in need because it means I have resources to share.
