[/quote] I was taught to get into the intersection and clear it if the light turns red. The only time/ place I don't do it is if you Won't be able to complete the turn on read, which was also taught. I think "Don't block the box" was developed because too many people couldn't clear the intersection on red. I did not know turn left on red onto a one way street was illegal in DC. Seems like that should become standard everywhere like right on red was in the 70s/80s(?).[/quote] Or, let’s go the other way and ban right and left on red in DC.
