Old man sounding names people think are sooo distinguished and cool. Henry and Jack come to mind. SO. MANY. JACKS. Guys’ names that end in -son. Please stop. I actually like 80’s names for girls. Kim, Jessica, Jennifer, Ashley. I’m tired of the “beautiful actress” type names everyone picks these days—Ava, Olivia, Bella. Blech.
I have a Henry but we didn’t choose it because we thought it was distinguished or cool. We just liked the way the name sounded and (I know everyone says this) but we truly had no idea how popular it was. Sometimes people just pick names they like sound of but in our case we should’ve done some name research too. If we’d known how common Henry was we wouldn’t have picked it. I like 80s names too. Lauren, Jenny, Sarah. The names I dislike are (for boys) generally names ending in -son, -den/-don, -ton and for some reason I can’t stand the names Gabriel or Isaac. For girls I don’t pike the long, frilly princess-y names: Isabella, Angelina, Sophia, Gabriella, Alexandra.
