I am 25 years old, 5'8", 110 lbs. and have been this weight and height since I was in middle school. I am fine with that but, as a mother of two and since I am no longer a teenager or college student, I desire to dress more maturely. As someone said before, sizes have changed and, although my actual size has not changed, my clothing size had changed from 4 to 0. At this point in my life, I can't really even afford Banana Republic prices and really would prefer shopping department store sale prices. Maybe most smaller women shop at the more expensive stores, I dunno....but I'm sure not all of us can afford that luxury. The have spent the last two weeks looking for a woman's Easter dress in size 0 or 2, have literally looked in every store I can afford in a 20 mile radius and have found no size 0 dresses (that aren't Junior's) and less than 10 total size 2 dresses and most of them, I discovered after looking at the inside tag, were petite dresses that had been put in the wrong department. If I had known it would have been so hard, I would have shopped online months ago so I would have had time to send it back. I now understand what larger women were going through a few years ago when plus size clothing was not as accessible as it is today! It's absurd, but fashion always changes and maybe sizes will change back. Who knows...
I had a friend complain about the same for several years. It seems that regular stores get one or two clothing items for the very small sizes like 2 for each style so they sell out quickly and they don't reorder the size for the rest of the season.
