I think Kate is happy to share the spotlight. She seems rather shy and any attention the press gives Meghan is less time Kate has to be in the spotlight.
I agree and don't think Kate minds Meghan taking the spotlight. I, however, think Will is being grumpy about being overshadowed individually AND as a family unit. Kate seems easy-going and just wants to get out to her farmhouse. William is an obstinate and lazy b*stard.
Eh. I just think William wants to get the media off of the Rose stuff (whatever it is, affair or something else). That's why the story about MI5 and 6 came out. I don't see William as behind the story about Meghan making Kate cry or texting at 5am or her NY baby shower.
I do see him as being behind those stories. But not directly. William has given the green light to the press to go after Meghan from day one by not protecting her. He didn't stop the rabid stories or the social media comments or the media interviews with her crazy family live on GMB. I think he can be fully blamed for the dogs being unleashed, because when the stories about his mistress Rose Hanbury/Cholmondeley started appearing he threatened the British press within an inch of their lives and suddenly they all shut up. Ignoring that obvious incident, I also think William is not a very good CEO, or whatever you want to call it, of his 'Court'. As the highest ranking member of Kensington Palace it was not only his job to protect every member (not just his wife and children) but also to ensure that his team is doing their job. The Kensington Palace staff are the worst PR team I've ever seen. Buckingham Palace and Clarence House runs rings around them in competence. That falls on William's head.
Oh please. Since none of what you're speculating about has ever been confirmed to be true, even if it were true, I wouldn't blame William one bit for not butting in to "protect" Meghan. She does not respect or observe family tradition/royal protocol and has been planting her own stories in the media since before she even got married (the story about Meghan being named godmother of Louis?) and hasn't stopped since (the story about Doria being invited to Christmas by the Queen? Random public lunch "meeting" with the new PR person in London?). Why exactly should William stick his neck out to protect someone who has been trying to control the narrative this entire time anyways? She doesn't just get that benefit when it's convenient for her. It's a perk of supporting the Firm.
What makes you think Meghan had anything to do with the godmother of Louis or the Doria lunch with the Queen pieces? She has no reason to try to curry favor - she was already in. She's Louis' only royal aunt and Doria has made it clear that she's not riding on Meghan's coattails to get into every Royal event or wedding or activity on offer (for that you can look to Carole Middleton). The only perk of supporting the Firm is the high regard of the Queen of England which Meghan has in spades. The Queen is the one who took Meghan on a private train ride on a solo engagement less than two months into her marriage. The Queen is the person who made Meghan Vice President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust. The Queen is the person who also handed down the monarch's patronage of the National Theatre to Meghan. The Queen also has sent Meghan on more diplomatic missions in her first year than Kate has gone on in eight. In other words, the Queen trusts Meghan. And she, above William, would have access to all of the information from her intelligence firms that would prove Meghan was behind any malicious press or gossip. She obviously isn't then. So again -- why did Prince William freeze Meghan out after the wedding? Here's an idea, because she was more competent and a bigger global threat to his popularity than he ever imagined. What the PP (not me) is evident from actual actions. Your accusations about MM not respecting protocol or being a fame seeker are nothing more than Daily Fail rantings.
