NNAT 119 Cogat 132 (v 132 / q 128 / nv 126) GBRS ? Not in. I’m thinking about appealing. Do I have to schedule a WISC?
This was my post and I just got her packet. GBRS were 2 consistently and the rest were frequently. Great teacher comments. DRA is 34. Area of strength in both math and reading. I did not submit any work samples and the ones submitted were really terrible. All 4s on report cards.
The WISC is the safest way to appeal, but it's possible to get in with just a strong parent letter and good work samples. In the parent letter, clearly explain why your child's needs cannot be met in gen ed without saying that she's bored. I would include that the teachers who work with her every day seem to think that her needs cannot be met in the regular classroom based on the GBRS and teacher comments.
