I’m a DW and I get up at 2:00 PM. I go to sleep at 5:00 AM, though. Kids are grown & DH and I run our own company, so I get a lot of work done in the wee morning hours when others are sleeping.
This is close to my dream schedule, which is bed around 3am, sleep til 11ish. I did this in school and it was amazing. As is, I go to bed around 1:30 and sleep til 7:45 during the week. I do the dream schedule on Friday and Saturday.
I'm another that goes to bed late and sleeps in till about 9am. I work shift work so this works well for me. Dh is also a late riser. When we have kids I am assuming our pattern will change. I get chores done around the house on most days, however will also have relaxing days where the dishwasher is stacked and that's about it. At the end of the day with two of us, the chores aren't excessive so they are easily kept up with. Dh and I both work so we share the chores as well. Op have you talked to your wife about this. 45 minutes in the bathroom is excessive. Does your wife do other chores? My DH will leave his plates on the table and I am always taking them to the dishwasher however he will vacuum before I get to it. I will clean the bathroom but he'll mow the lawns. We share the cooking. It sort of balances itself out. Is your wife doing anything around the house? If she isn't then this would concern me. Do you have kids? If you don't then I think you need to seriously consider where your life is going before you bring kids into the mix. If you do have kids would getting a cleaner help the situation? Does she work? If you don't have kids does she want to work, would this help?
