Mass is about the Bible and about individual and family behavior, week after week, month after month. It's not about discussing politics.[/quote] It depends on the particular country in Latin America, but in some countries the Church has been very political active. Both right and left wing. Clergy have been assassinated for their left wing activism—Romero is a great example. In the town in Ecuador where I worked, what parish you attended identified your politics and the feast day of the saint was often the occasion of political speeches. [/quote]
