White Flight is basically another term for Not Wanting to Be Shot or Raped
because white people never commit murder or rape, or randomly kill people in schools, movie theater, church..
Statistically speaking, the odds of being attacked by a black or brown are 12x higher than a white person, so yeah, keep welcoming diversity
I hate to admit this, but this is true. As a brown woman myself, even I have to admit that I feel unsafe around some brown and black males. I find them aggressive and borderline scary at times. At least when I tell a white guy to leave me alone he complies. However, black and brown men become hostile and sometimes violent. I feel safer in my predominately white community. In my previous community with black and brown men crime was rampant. Daily street harassment was just a part of life. I can walk down the street in my white community without degenerates hollering or screaming sexually explicit nonsense. Minority men being violent towards minority women are never held accountable. Actually, society gives these men free passes because people just don't hold black and brown men to higher standards. So, no thanks you couldn't pay me to reside in a community where a bunch of brown or black men inhabit. I'm a full supporter of green flight. If anyone has the financial means, then why would they want to reside in a community that puts them at risk? I don't care about white people fleeing to greener pastures because most of us brown or black UMC folks who are honest with ourselves don't want to reside in communities where there is a high percentage of minorities either. Many of my black and brown UMC friends flee to private schools or other neighborhoods once their neighborhood public schools become less white. However, we just don't discuss this in company of white people.
Thanks for the post It's a class issue not a race issue. It's no secret people try to be in the most expensive area they can afford Poor white areas suck too
