Poolesville is a whole school Magnet. Not sure what that means but perhaps parents from upcounty know more than me?
Yes, Poolesville is whole school magnet. In Poolesville case you take exam to join the magnet program if you live in upper Montgomery County. Kids who live in the school boundaries have a higher chance to be picked because they take 25% of the students from their own middle school and the rest of the kids can take magnet courses if their is space available.
If not all the kids are magnet how is it a whole school magnet? [/quit Magnet kids take most of their class with other magnet kids. But,non magnet school boundary kids can take magnet courses if there is space in those classes. This makes it inclusive and whole magnet school.
No they can't take magnet classes. They can take advanced level classes if there is space but the magnet classes are reserved for the magnet students.
