This has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.  The School Board is more than happy to build new schools--the bonds always pass.  They just don't want to deal with the politics of the issue.

PP, the SB spends an inordinate amount of time talking about how to close the achievement gap.  Meanwhile, they are terrified and personally support the lobby that is AAP.  That's the hypocrisy of the whole thing.  They support segregation --as long as it is AAP.[/quote]

Unfortunately most of our neighborhoods in Fairfax are segregated. The magnet programs like AAP, IB, Academy, Immersion, etc. are keeping some of the schools in poorer neighborhoods from getting worse and some are actually uplifting neighborhoods with their school reputation. The school board should work better on keeping AAP and other programs in check than eliminating them. They are already doing a terrible job of boudary adjustments. [/quote]
