Shut up. Not a Bullis parent, but your post is crap. Do you know how many kids are brought it to Landon? They poached the goalie from the Heights, STA's best player, a junior transfer from Oregon, etc. Nearly every MS kid at Landon is recruited over. The coach at SSSA is recruiting like crazy. Putting this just on Bullis is piling on.
Define recruiting at these schools. Are they actively approaching the parents of sports kids and offering financial incentive? Are they lowering the academic standards of admission? Are they providing some other incentive other full-tuition families aren't eligible to receive? Not to parse words but bringing in full tuition middle school kids and seeing they are good lacrosse players is probably okay since class sizes tend to increase at MS. Bringing in a senior transfer on scholarship to play basketball (Landon a few years ago) or a junior transfer (don't know if he was incentivized) to play lacrosse who transfers right back (Bullis) probably ticks off a few parents who pay full tuition and their kid loses playing time or a spot on the roster. Since the thread is about Bullis and not knowing the end result of this current situation, they have been ridiculously aggressive in their athletic pursuits but they have also spent a ton of time and $$ in trying to build out the rest of the school. A poster on another thread spelled out Bullis' situation very well with regard to growth, enrollment and endowment. And I don't know the answer to this but was Bellistri the one leading the charge to recruit for sports other than basketball and football or was it Megill and Horsey? How bad was their dynamic that led to this?
