And I love marching bands! Drum lines, drum line competitions, parade marching bands, military marching bands, tattoos. Saw blast the musical, a similar hcbu theater production and Edinburgh tattoo. 3x. Also pipe bands of all sorts. I won't say it's a weird obsession, who doesn't love a parade?[/quote]

I love parades, too.  I just don't like the siss boom bah, loud honking, clattering noise of marching band music.  I was secretly so relieved when my kids never expressed an interest in playing in the band.  They have both learned stringed instruments which are lovely.  And I would be fine with them playing in a symphony.  But I really do not like the cacophony of marching band type music - it all sounds like the same racket to me...I don't even begin to know how they go about judging marching bands.

Now that I've admitted this, watch my kid decide he wants to play in the marching band....ugh.[/quote]
