Start looking into renting a place there for a year. Your family can use it as much as she likes to try it out. If you two decide to make the leap, then downsize to a smaller place in the city and get a bigger place in the small town. Agree to try it for one year...but really keep an open mind and actually try to make a go of it (rather than whining and sabotaging). There's really no other solution, right? [/quote]
