[quote=Anonymous]This is how they roll. They protect, enable their abuser clergy, allowing them to continue to harm others. Anybody watch the Netflix Baltimore story “The Keepers”? Abuser Maskell started sexually molesting 11-12 year old boys white he was in the seminary in the late 1950’s, and was still at it through 1992, before he fled to Ireland to avoid a looming civil case in Baltimore. Despite his known history, the Irish government hired him in Wexford to counsel their young victims of clergy abuse in 1995 - they had to know of his background, chose to ignore it. He went to abuse there. The State’s Attorneys will not file criminal charges, so the clergy abusers don’t get on the public sexual abuser lists and continue to pass background screening. Statute of Limitations laws restrict the time people harmed have to file civil cases. I don’t know how people can entrust their kids to those education systems. The Archdiocese of Baltimore has publicly named 71 clergy abusers who were under their command and control, and there are many more. The AOB has paid over $14 million dollars out in private settlements (that keeps names private) from 1982-2015. This is not a few bad apples - this is an organizational conspiracy to protect the abusers and throw the kids to the wolves. I am happy to see the truth coming out, hopefully that will continue.
