They just got lucky financially and indebted all future generations in the process. They think party will go on forever. But because of their selfishness they will die lonely, abandoned, and sad.
Explain that concept, if getting lucky means getting up and going to work everyday, yeah we got lucky everyday of our lives since our teens.
You do understand that boomers came of age in pretty much the strongest economy in history? And were able to get excellent jobs right out of high school and college (with minimal student debt) that allowed them to buy regular houses on a single salary and retire 30 years later on a defined benefit pension? Sure, some boomers didn't get it so lucky. But lots did. That story literally cannot exist in this day and age. Tell me about a place in 2018 where someone can graduate from a regular college with almost no debt and get a job at 22 that they can have a stay at home wife and buy a basic middle class house within 5 years and retire in 30 years with no financial instability? Literally cannot happen anymore. So yeah, if you mean "getting up and going to work every day" as in "I went to a job from 9-5 every day for 30 years with no particular risk of getting fired while my wife stayed home and then we retired on a fixed pension", then boo hoo. Rough life of all that "hard work".
