26% of 22101 and 29% of 22102 high school students went to private schools in 2016 based on Census data. This skews the demographics at both schools as whites are more likely to go private. The kids that live on your street in your Mclean neighborhood will not be all of the same kids that you see at Langley or Mclean HS.
Based on the demographics I see at the private schools, I would not say that it means it skews white. Plus because of the wealth in this area, there tends to be a feeling of public school first, but if it does not work then private school. IME, a significant % of the kids in this area who go to private school go because they can’t handle an aspect of public school. Most of them have an issue that is not quite enough for an IEP or 504, but enough of an issue that a smaller school or targeted environment helps them. This lifts some of the burdens that the public school and it counteracts the creaming of TJ. The other half were private or parochial school all the way. The higher the net worth/HHI the more likely they are to be in this group (or religious).
