By the time my kids leave the nest, they will be prepared to be independent. College age are still young so of course they aren't completely on their own and they will still be reliant on us for some things but they won't be at home either. We'll be there for guidance and moral support whenever they need it (we always will be) but they will be on their own and calling the shots for themselves. I will no longer be actively parenting them and supervising them in a daily sort of way. That time of life will be over and my kids will be responsible for themselves and making decisions for themselves. [/quote]
