That is sad but true about being rational...

As far as Trump, yes I think it is possible for him to conspire with Russia but not want to win.  Look at it this way:  Trump owes Russia ( money ) and they see an opportunity to put a figurehead in place.  He can't say no. So, he goes along with it figuring he would never actually win.  Best case ( according to him) he gets more publicity and being seen as cooperating with Russia so they partner with him for property in Russia.  Worst case ( according to him ) he wins.  To make the worst case more palatable, he decides to undo everything Obama did!  He never liked Obama especially after Obama made fun of him.
