Something to consider is 13th & I NW is a blue/orange/silver metro stop. So in addition to having to get on metro at union station, a transfer at metro center OR walking several blocks. It's not just the commute to Union Station--that's the easy part.
Important point.
Also have to get from house to train station on the Baltimore end.
I’m a PP that recommended Bolton Hill, Bmore side can be very easy.
Bolton Hill has a lot more crime, and no good school options. It is closer to train station — maybe you could go door to door in 15 minutes on Baltimore side so commute an hour and a half,p each way, assuming no Marc or Metro delays,
Agree about public schools but I never had any problem whatsoever with crime. Not so much as a broken car window. Lovely preschool lovely church community and lovely neighbors.
Did you live in Baltimore more than three years ago? There has been a massive increase in crime in all neighborhoods since Mosby took office, even downtown and in the inner harbor. Hard to understand if you don’t actually live here and deal with on a regular basis, since only the huge increase in shootings makes the news.
Depends on where you live. A neighborhood like Roland Park - which is a huge and makes up probably 1,000+ acres - has had one murder in the past 20+ years. The one murder that did happen (in 2017) was such a big deal that they called out the entire police academy to canvas for evidence the day after.
