Last year my license expired on a Saturday, and I spaced out on renewing it the week before. I figured I'd go to the gym first thing Monday morning, then go straight to the DMV when it opened. He told me I was not allowed to drive until I renewed it, and that technically he could impound my car. So I left my car in the gym parking lot and took Uber to the DMV, renewed, and then Ubered back. (Not taking any more chances, no sir.)

Of course I still had the ticket. When the court date came around, I went to court, and happily the judge dismissed the ticket when I produced my renewed license. But I still had to waste a morning going to court.

If I had a do-over, I sure as heck would have renewed my license the week before.[/quote]
