I have no idea how people have the time for this. I was able to get 10k when I was recovering from a surgery and the recovery included long walks. However, since returning to work, it's impossible. It's not that I don't have the stamina, it's that I drop off kids at school and drive to work, work through lunch, then pick up kids on my way home. Kids are too young to leave at home while I walk for an hour after getting home and they have homework and (understandably) want to play/relax after school. Also, I'm busy helping them with homework, making dinner, doing showers, etc. There is no time for this!
I’m the formerly obese poster with a desk job. I get up from the desk every hour and walk. I use the furthest restroom. I take steps to the cafeteria and to other floors to talk to coworkers, instead of email. I park in the most distant part of the garage. The good part of getting more exercise is that I feel more alert and energetic for more of the day. I am more productive, even with these walk breaks. Doing this may not take you from 7,000 to 15,000. But it could get you up to 10,000 pretty easily.
