They believe homosexual activity is a sin and living in sin day in and day out will send you to hell for eternity. They are probably heartbroken about it. By accepting and supporting your lifestyle they would be basically shoving you into hell. If they believe the bible then they are showing you love by trying to save you from hell.
oh jesus
This is what the bible teaches and nothing is more important than your eternal destination. Almost every funeral I go to is in a church. When people die everybody all the sudden wants Jesus to protect the loved one. If you've lived a life of open defiance and mocking indifference of Gods will then you can end up in hell for eternity. I don't know of any parent that would encourage their child on their path to hell. If you believe the bible you would be heartbroken.
Save your self-righteous screeds for a religion forum. There are many many many Christian families out there who can love their LGBT children and not treat them like garbage. Being a Christian does not absolve you from being a terrible parent.
I am amazed too by people who aren’t religious but insist their dead loved ones are in heaven. Or think Jesus, who came before like a lamb but will come next like a lion and separate the wheat from chaff, will save those who directly opposed His Father their entire lives. God sent His Son to redeem us. He loves us but we don’t get to run around openly ignoring His Word, and then go to heaven. Sin separates us from God. We are not capable of living life w/o sin, so we get to God through the sacrifice of His Son.
Except the whole point is that you get saved and then everything you did before doesn't matter, I mean that's Christian logic basically
