So does op just want to take 1 of her kids and leave behind dh and subsequent kids?
Are we talking day trips or a flight to, say, the Florida keys, or something in between like a few days at Grear wolf lodge?
And could your dh meet you on the tail end of the trip?[/quote]

Hi! OP here. I would take all 3 kids but possibly leave DH home alone. I would like to take off work because I can't arrange camp for the preschooler that week but DH definitely can't take off work that week.  Since I'll be off work, I will not arrange camp for the older two either.  We could do a staycation but I am also possibly considering taking all the kids to Williamsburg (maybe Kings Mill) or even fly to Tampa and go to Don Cesar which has a kids club.

We will all do an east coast beach vacation together earlier in the summer when we can all take off from work. 
I did a staycation this past summer but I kind of got roped into a lot of regular things like dr. appts, etc. & it didn't feel like there was much "cation" involved, but I could try harder this summer. [/quote]
