Software development is far more than just designing and implementing. This systems need maintained. There are far more folks than just "software engineers." You or your spouse clearly isn't in IT if you feel that way. This guy was not prepared for a manager role. They promoted him as he was smart and could do the job. Managing is a different level and few are really good at it, especially in the IT world.[/quote]
