Why is 4-yr so important? Community College is perfect for this student - 2 years of good supportive teaching, followed by a guaranteed transfer to a number of VA schools. Just watch out for getting put into remedial courses - submit appropriate tests so that doesn't happen. CC is a useful thing - don't dismiss it.
Community college in Virginia does not necessarily work for all VA state schools' programs. Students need to read the details about the "guaranteed transfer" program.
I have a similar kid thinking of community college and the guaranteed transfer program. We have read the information and it looks like an easy path to UVA or VT if she keeps her grades up at community college. Am I missing something?
