I'd argue that it's non-whites and liberals that have forced whites to look at themselves as "white," far more than white supremacist groups. Traditionally, whites have looked at themselves as English, Irish, Italian, German, etc. But all of those groups are deemed to have "white privilege." So it wasn't the European ethnicities that decided they love each other (in fact, they have fought throughout US history). Instead, it was the liberals who pushed them all into the same camp.
