There are plenty of dbags at Chicago too, it is just a different kind:  intellectual snobs who are insufferably pompous, socially awkward and think they are way smarter than they actually are

Not quite. It still attracts a disctinct crowd compared to the ivies. Sure many tiger cubs apply but most of  the people who actually choose to enroll are not interchangeable with the people who enroll at the ivies. [/quote]

OK? You can't do that at Dartmouth, either...

It's just anecdotal but I know multiple families whose kids had the choice, parents preferred the UChicago eduction and ultimately went with Dartmouth because their kids thought it would be easier and they ddn't think want to work that hard.  I've heard that Dartmouth holds your feet to the fire more than other Ivies but I think it takes kids challenged by vs afraid of the UChicago rep to enroll.  (The reality is that like any college, the classes vary but they are all small even as freshman so they can't hide in a lecture hall crowd ) [/quote]
