OP here. I am not "crazy." You people are ridiculous. I locked up all the Costco snacks because of their volume -- there's a lot of them. So we only bring a few at a time upstairs. As an idea He eats a breakfast of milk, juice, bacon and biscuits before he walks out the door at 6:30 a.m. (egg allergies -- can't have those) He eats a lunch (at 10:20 -- crazy school time lunch) of a water, sandwich, chips, fruit, maybe cookies. I've tried packing a second sandwich but he refuses. He eats again as soon as he gets home at 2 ish: protein, more fruit, maybe some veggies, milk Dinner at 6 is protein and veggies, rice. Maybe popcorn or ice cream at 8. I'm certainly not trying to feed him my post-menopausal diet. I was just trying to get an idea if people saw this type of weight gain over a a couple months in their kids. I have seen in from doctor's appoint to doctor's appointment over a year, but not in 8 weeks.
OP, my ten year old (low weight and size) eats at least that amount each day. And how do you know what your high schooler is eating at school? Mine buys lunch at school and I could not tell you what he eats on a given day. Let your poor boy eat. You are way to fixated you your teenager's (normal) weight.
+1 This looks a lot like my 10 year old’s diet, except he eats a much bigger breakfast. OP, I wouldn’t worry at all.
Indeed, this is some kind of women weight loss diet! I am pp with 130lbs 18 year old and he eats way more than that. He told me how surprised he is to see at college that all his male friends are eating 2,3 platesfuls of full cafeteria lunches and dinners, and that he can't and only now understand how little he eats. OP, please, put your 80s skinny/scary thin attitude aside. You are wrong, and starving your child. I hope he is supplementing this insane diet with Chipotle and other food and you just don't know about it. I am approaching 50 and I eat way more than your DS eats, according to your list above, and weight 116lbs. Imagine you want him to reach 6'4" and feed him way, way more. 15lbs is normal and desirable weight gain at his age. Once he is reaching 200lbs, then it is time to keep an eye on it.
