It is one thing not to care about the talentless Jose on the street being gay. (And even then, my fellow Portuguese care no matter what articles you can Google.)

It is another thing for the man who we see as the most heroic of us to be gay. You simply cannot understand what a pedestal we have put this man on and how much that pedestal means to him, his family, the soccer community, not to mention the whole of a tiny country that does not really have much more to claim than Cristiano.

He can never come out as gay. He must guard that secret. And we love him for understanding that he means too much to our society to let us down like that. It is not PC, but that is life! [/quote]

Yes, I agree. But there is nothing wrong with keeping that little bit of his business private, OK? Not everything is for everyone to see.
