The truth is that people who become wealthy and powerful are more likely to be assholes. There is social science supporting this. We think it's a Hollywood problem because these this industry is visible to us--it's players are celebrities, on our screens and in the news. But the big players in Hollywood aren't, as a group, any more "messed up" or corrupt or evil than the big players in any other industry. You can't swing a cat on Wall Street without hitting some obscenely successful sociopath.[/quote]
