This is selfish of you. Your child  is in a situation where they will need you more than they ever have and you choose to be selfish and get locked up making your child have to deal with being abused, a parent in prison and have their life uprooted ( because there's no guarantee that the person you chose when you decided to comit 1st degree murder gets to keep your kid) so instead they get to grow up in foster care where he/she is likely to become a repeat victim.
