If we are going to be fixated on race, I personally find it racist that many are attacking OP, who is a person of Latin heritage. How dare you derail his thread and try to lecture and condescend to him on race? Absolutely despicable. You should all be ashamed.
OP here, thank you. I shared because I needed to vent and already put things in motion to resolve this on behalf of a majority of the families on the team. I'm 1/2 latino, but don't look it so this would not be the first time I've been called racist (fill in with white comment if needed) and I'm ok with it since the purpose of my vent had nothing to do with race. I probably should have picked a forum where everyone can't hide behind a generic User ID.
This is what you said: " in fact he paces up and down the sidelines screaming in spanish/english at the kids (including his own)." There is no mention of cursing or foul language. You never made any of the words that the father said known or relevant. You stated that he is "screaming in spanish/english". Please tell us what the relevance is to his screaming in Spanish that it needed to be pointed out? Again, you made no claim that he was using Spanish as a dodge to allow him to curse and get away with it.
I'm fluent enough in spanish to know what he's saying would go over well with the refs and therefore knew what he was doing wouldn't be tolerated. To the other comment about approaching him and saying I didn't think he played in college. I didn't need to, I told him to let the coaches coach. The fact you genius choose to highlight these parts of my post also shows you ignored the rest of my comments that I did approach him so that clearly states i'm not fearful of my life, but I'm not going to create a scene in front of the kids. Remove the children from the equation and we have a different approach. Enough of you tough guys out there to cover for the rest of us. I don't need to fight verbally/physically to prove my point, I've done enough of that serving this country and have chosen not to let my child's soccer field become a battle ground.
None of that addresses why pointing out that he was screaming in Spanish was relevant. isn't the fact that he was screaming the only thing of issue? And no you didn't accuse him to his face of likely not being college educated, you saved that for the anonymous forum.
