I'm on board too. My DH and I have spoken to police that patrol the area where this young woman was killed. Can't say much here but there's a real problem with people being arrested and then being released within a few days to a month. So much so that the officer said he's been laughed at numerous time's by people he's arrested. They know they will face nothing more than a slap on the wrist. The joke is on us.[/quote]

The project housing on 14th and Saratoga is scheduled to be demolished.  Most of the criminal activity takes place there in Brentwood Manor.  The single family housing in that area is pretty safe with families minding their own business.  Mixed-use development with shops and rentals are going up in place of the projects.  I have mixed feelings about it.  90% of the people at Brentwood Manor are decent people like grandmothers, small families.  They are all getting thrown out because a few bad actors.  Also, there are tons of people from MD coming in, some of them former DC residents with ties to that area.  They also bring in the criminal elements. [/quote]
