This! I hate over-stimulating places.  Places I don't find appealing: huge resorts, Disney, music festivals.  I'd love to do a nice long trip to beautiful Maine.[/quote]

I love Popum Beach, and it's not too far north-I don't know what rentals are like around there, but the areas is cute and quieter.

Ogunquit is a great beach if you want something busier with more touristy stuff in southern maine.

Casco Bay Islands are nice because you can take the ferry into Portland for the restaurants and such-the beaches tend to be small island beaches.[/quote]
