Eric seems very insecure/needy. He can't compete with the emotional maturity that other guys have (whi gappen to be white)
Was it me or were you wondering if he maybe set Will up by suggesting that Will should let Rachel know that he normally dates white girls?
I think he did, unintentionally. Eric doesn't seem to be that calculating. I kinda liked Will and think she should have given him a chance. I don't know why she assumed that just because they grew up with similar backgrounds that they should have dated the same way.
I think the issue of who you usually date is bound to come up b/t the guys and with Rachel. I think it came up with her because he apparently has less attraction to black girls. I liked Will before, but finding out his M.O. turned me off. I guess he's one of those guys who dates white girls b/c he thinks it makes him look better or something.
I did not take it as he had less attraction towards black females. I interpreted what he was saying as he typically dated white females which seemed to have more to do with his environment than a true preference. I did not think that what he said was offensive at all. I do wonder why Rachel would have taken any offense because she is obviously attracted to white men too. I also think that his description of his affection/passion in his last relationship should not have been a direct reflection on his feelings for Rachel. They were only a few weeks into the show by that point and had not spent a significant amount of time together. I would think if there was that much "passion" immediately that it may not be genuine. However, this is reality television, so who knows what is genuine!!
