I agree with this completely.

OP - ignore the haters.  My aunt won't travel unless it's 5 star travel only - private jets, suites at the Four Seasons, etc.  Unfortunately, they lost a lot of money and can't afford the travel anymore, so she just chooses not to.  She's the one missing out.  Like many posters on this thread.

I'll vacation/travel anyway I can; it doesn't matter if it has to be frugal.
