I teach at a selective liberal arts college where this sort of faculty-student interaction occurs a lot. And as the post makes clear, I intend never to allow this sort of situation to arise again by being more prudent. But that is not helpful for explaining how to deal with the current situation in the most ethical/prudent manner.[/quote]
