Test ins that don't mean anything are worthless.  when the bar is so low parents start think mediocre looks pretty good.  McKinley can't hold a candle to the top non-test in schools in Bethesda or Fairfax.  There are enough high achieving parents in DC prodcuing high perfoming students that they would support such a school. But bennekar and Mcknily are a no-go. And there is no diversity at all.[/quote]

New poster here.  Why is it unserious to talk about Banneker and McKinley in the same sentence?  I am clueless, which is why it's a genuine question.  I know they're both test-in or application or whatever DCPS calls it.  I know Banneker has a much higher % female students and neither has any racial diversity.  (I'm just reporting the published demographics, does that make me a bigot?)

because Banneker has great kids, curricululm, and success at college placement. It would be more "diverse" if white parents weren't scared of it. [/quote]
