I bet the failing DCPS high schools will still be empty
Bigly
Turn one of 'em into a test-in magnet school with an IB track and a bunch of APs, and it wouldn't be. Walls turns away hundreds of applicants every year who would love to have another similar option, for example. DCPS just won't do it.
DCPS already has six test-in schools. Except for Walls and Ellington there isn't real competition for spots. More test-in schools isn't the answer.
Test ins that don't mean anything are worthless. when the bar is so low parents start think mediocre looks pretty good. McKinley can't hold a candle to the top non-test in schools in Bethesda or Fairfax. There are enough high achieving parents in DC prodcuing high perfoming students that they would support such a school. But bennekar and Mcknily are a no-go. And there is no diversity at all.
I can't take you seriously when you talk about Banneker and McKinley in the same sentence. You're just clueless, a bigot, or both.
New poster here. Why is it unserious to talk about Banneker and McKinley in the same sentence? I am clueless, which is why it's a genuine question. I know they're both test-in or application or whatever DCPS calls it. I know Banneker has a much higher % female students and neither has any racial diversity. (I'm just reporting the published demographics, does that make me a bigot?)
because Banneker has great kids, curricululm, and success at college placement. It would be more "diverse" if white parents weren't scared of it.
