Because your kids are going to pick produce, butcher meat and clean hotel rooms and rich people's homes? Alabama tried this. Crops rotted. Landlords went bankrupt. They come here to learn and work decently. Many of them become successful agricultural entrepreneurs. These are the people who contribute to make U. S. great anytime. [/quote]

So many of you miss an important point. Legal/documented individuals can do that work too. I hear what you're saying about other Americans don't want to do that work. 1) maybe they will 2) *legal* immigrants will and 3) there is an undesirable reason illegal immigrants are hired for these tough and low paying jobs--because they are easier to take advantage of. Illegal immigrants need to come in legally so they can push for more respect. Hard to push for your work rights when you're not even supposed to be working. [/quote]
