As for the percentage of ID'd gifted kids getting in, doesn't it make sense that the parents of the average gifted kid are more likely to enter a lottery for a high performing school than the parents of the rest?  It makes sense that lots of gifted kids would win the lottery.[/quote]

Yes.  A few that have graduated, a few in high school now, and a couple in middle school. Of the five 6th graders on the street currently 3 or 4 applied but none got in.  At least 2 of the applicants receive gifted services, for those keeping track.[/quote]
