It comes in its boxed, with the inserts.  I check batch numbers and dates, which are imprinted on the tube and the box.

I bought some retin-a off of Amazon, and it wasn't legit. Didn't work and broke me out. Those knockoffs sometimes have dangerous ingredients. I use Rx retin-a now, so the difference is clear. [/quote]

How do you know it wasn't "legit"?  It is very, very cheap in some countries where it is OTC, so much so that it makes no sense for anyone to produce a "knockoff."   "Legit" tretinoin takes a few months to work, and it does break you out in the initial period.  What probably happened is that you used an incorrect formulation for your skin type.   Tretinoin is produced in cream, gel, and microsphere versions, of varying dosages.

I used prescription Retin-a as a teen, and the other-branded versions I buy online have the same smell.  [/quote]
