Nobody in my DH's family loads the dishwasher properly. I noticed SIL's husband having the same cows that I do about dishes poorly placed in a way they will never get clean or they will be damaged. DH does exactly the same thing. He will actually put all the pots face down on the top rack, and then because there's no more room on the top rack, he starts putting glasses on the bottom rack. I try to explain that the top and bottom racks have different purposes and he acts like I'm overbearing and OCD. I'd rather be critical than have to pick broken glass out of the dishwasher.
How many times have you "picked broken glass our of the dishwasher"?
Just once. You can't put a wine glass on the bottom rack. Period.
All this anxiety over 1 broken glass.
There would be a lot more if I didn't step in and take over. You can't put glasses on the bottom rack. And pots may not come clean on the top rack. There is a method, and it's in the manual.
You should not put any wine glasses in the dishwasher, unless you live in a trailer.
You obviously have a trailer-worthy dishwasher, then. Get a decent one, PP, and your wine glasses will come out pristine.
