The root of the problem has been the headmasters win at all costs mentality. Bullis has gone rouge when it comes to recruiting for for football and basketball since Boardman stepped foot on campus. The man wants to win. Just google what happened when he was the principal at Eleanor Roosevelt when the school won a few state championships and their head football coach was caught cheating.

All private schools recruit for lacrosse, I won’t deny this. Some schools pick up a transfer or two each year if they are lucky. Since Bellistri became the head coach, his staff has been emailing kids from rival schools, offering scholarships, and increased exposure.  You are delusional if you think bringing in 10 plus lacrosse transfers in two years won’t piss off current parents in the school and those who have been part of the program for a number of years. It also doesn’t look good for Bullis when a few of the recruited players parents boast how little they are paying to attend the school even though they may not even qualify for financial assistance in the first place.

Lacrosse is not football. It one of the fasting growing sports in the country and youth participation is only going up. Most of the privates in this area have enough bodies in their hallways to field a competitive team with the right coaching staff.

The administration has shot themselves in the foot as they have have allowed for the lacrosse program to act like hybrid college team and as a result have ailinated their core student base.
