I also read he liked beets.  It's just tragic though that there was a Betty Ford clinic 4 miles from his house but instead of going there or having someone from there come to him, he had the CA rehab guy come to him too late. It makes you wonder if he could have been saved had he sought treatment earlier. It just seems illogical, like the article about him calling someone to call the limo driver to turn down the A/C.  It's sad that he wanted help and possibly put it off for years.[/quote]

I think it was probably a quality of life thing for him.  We don't know the extent of his health issues but I really think they were significant and not something that the medical community could have adequately fixed for him.  So instead of spending his last days doing as his doctors said.  Prince partied like it was 1999...
