And, it's relevant to the point OP raised - separating necessary from unnecessary tasks is entirely appropriate when addressing the issue of "invent[ed] tasks" in the context of mental labor. If her wife was offloading work on her because she wanted to spin the yarn she was using to hand-knit the dress, this is fair game in terms of how tasks are prioritized and divided. [/quote]
